Once upon a time, there was a fisherman and his wife. The fisherman was very nice and helpful. But, his wife was very greedy and selfish.

One day, the fisherman was fishing. He caught a very big fish. Suddenly, something strange happened.

The big fish started talking! The big fish said, "If you set me free, I will grant all of your wishes. So, the fisherman let the big fish go.

Later, the fisherman asked his wife, "What should I wish for? Maybe we can help the people in the town." But his wife said, “I want a bigger house! They are our wishes, and I will use them for us!"

The fisherman went back to the lake. He found the big fish, and he said, "My wife wants a bigger house." The big fish said, “That is a selfish wish.” The fisherman said, “Yes, but it is what my wife wants.” So the big fish granted the wish.

The next day, the fisherman’s wife said, "This house is too small! I want a bigger house.” The fisherman said, “But we should use our wishes carefully. We should help people.” Then, his wife yelled, “I want a bigger house!”

The fisherman talked to the big fish again. He said, “My wife wants a bigger house.” It said, “I will grant this wish. But for your next wish, you must be very careful!”

One week later, the fisherman found the big fish again. He said, “My wife wants a bigger house.” The big fish was very angry. It said, “You should use your wishes to help people!” The fisherman said, “My wife wants the biggest house in town.”

The big fish granted the wish, and swam away angrily. It said, “Tell your wife to enjoy her house tonight. It will be gone tomorrow.”

The next morning, the big house was gone. Only the little house that they had before was there. The fisherman’s wife was very angry. The fisherman went back to the lake. He fished every day, but he never saw the big fish again.
