Alice's Adventures In Wonderland

Alice was sitting by a river with her sister. Suddenly, she saw a White Rabbit. She followed the White Rabbit to a Rabbit hole. She fell into the hole! She fell very far down the hole. When she landed, she was in a room full of doors. She saw a tiny door behind a curtain. She drank from a bottle with a note that said DRINK ME, and she shrunk. Then, she ate a cake with a note that said EAT ME, and she became very big.

Alice was sad because she could not go into the tiny door. She was big. She was a giant! She began to cry, and her giant tears dropped onto the floor. Her tears filled up the room. Suddenly, Alice began to shrink again. Soon, she was swimming in a deep pool of tears.

When Alice was swimming, she met a Mouse. Alice and the Mouse swam together. Then, Alice met more animals. They were all swimming and talking. They were swimming to the shore. But the shore was far away, and they were getting tired!

When Alice and the animals reached the shore, they were all very wet, tired, and grumpy. Soon, they were dry. But they were still tired and grumpy. Alice told a story to cheer up the small animals. But the story was about her cat! All of the small animals were afraid of cats, and they ran away.

Suddenly, Alice saw the White Rabbit again. The White Rabbit told Alice to go to his house. When Alice was inside the White Rabbit’s house, she grew again. She was too big for the house! The White Rabbit and his friends threw tiny cakes at Alice. She ate the cakes, and she shrunk again. Then, Alice ran away from the White Rabbit’s house.

Alice saw a Caterpillar sitting on a mushroom. The Caterpillar asked Alice a lot of questions. But Alice could not answer. She told the Caterpillar that she was very confused. “I am small, and then I am tall. And then I am small again! I do not know anything now, so I cannot answer your questions.” The Caterpillar got angry and he walked away from Alice.

Before the Caterpillar went away, he told Alice that she could eat the mushroom. Eating the left side would make her small, and eating the right side would make her tall. Alice ate the mushroom pieces. She shrunk, and grew, and changed shape! She ate again and again. Soon she was at a nice size, and she was happy. Then, she met the Cheshire Cat. Alice was surprised because the Cheshire Cat could disappear! The Cheshire Cat told Alice to go to the March Hare’s house.

Alice went to the March Hare’s house. She met the March Hare, the Mad Hatter, and the sleepy Dormouse. They were having a tea party. They ate cakes, they drank tea, and they asked a lot of questions. But they were crazy, so their questions had no answers! Because Alice was not having fun at the crazy tea party, she walked away.

Alice walked to a garden. In the garden, she saw three Card-Men. The Card-Men were carrying brushes and buckets of red paint. They were painting all of the white roses. Alice asked, “Why are you painting the roses red?” They told Alice that the Queen of Hearts hated white roses, so they had to paint them red.

Suddenly, Alice saw more Card-Men. They were marching towards her. It was a parade of Card-Men! Alice saw the White Rabbit again, too. The White Rabbit played a trumpet for the King and Queen of Hearts. Alice was very happy and excited because she was going to meet the Queen!
Page 11
The Queen of Hearts was not a nice person. Everybody was afraid of her because she got angry very easily. And when the Queen of Hearts was angry at someone, she yelled, “Off with his head!” or “Off with her head!” One day, The Queen of Hearts wanted to play a Game in the yard. Everybody had to play and The Queen told Alice to play too.
Page 12
The Queen’s Game was very strange. The Game did not have balls. It had Hedgehogs! And the Game did not have clubs. It had Flamingos! In the Game, people swung their Flamingos and hit their Hedgehogs into their goals. But the goals were not goals. In this Game, the goals were the Card-Men. To make points, everybody had to hit their Hedgehogs into their Card-Men!
Page 13
The Queen’s game began. At first, everybody followed the rules. But soon, the players began to argue. And then, the Flamingo clubs began to argue with the Hedgehog balls. Then, the Card-Man goals argued with the players, who argued with the Hedgehogs! And the Queen was very angry at everybody. She yelled, “Off with his head!” and “Off with her head!” and “Off with their heads!” Poor Alice was very confused. Suddenly, the Cheshire Cat appeared. He smiled and asked Alice if she liked the game. But Alice did not like the game at all.
Page 14
Suddenly, Alice began to grow again. She was growing and growing. The King of Hearts told Alice to stop growing. But Alice said, “You cannot stop me!” Then the Queen yelled, “Off with her head!” And all of the Card-Men jumped on Alice. Alice was very big. But there were many Card-Men jumping onto her face and shoulders. “Off with her head!” the Queen yelled again. Alice was very afraid.

“Alice. Alice!” Alice was sleeping on her sister’s legs. It was all a dream. It was a wonderful dream! Alice sat up and told her sister about her dream. It really was a wonderful and curious dream. And behind Alice, a White Rabbit hopped quietly into his Rabbit hole.
