Once upon a time, there was an old man. He took care of his three grandsons because their parents had died. He loved his grandsons very much.

One morning, the three grandsons went into the forest. As they walked, they became afraid. The sun had not come up, so Rampogusto, the Goblin King was still awake.

The three grandsons began to sing to All-Rosy, the sun god. The grandsons hoped that All-Rosy would come and save them from the darkness.

When All-Rosy came, he told the grandsons, “You must stay with your grandfather. You must protect him from Rampogusto. Your grandfather burns the sacred fire.”

Rampogusto heard what All-Rosy said to the grandsons. So, Rampogusto made the grandsons forget what they had heard.

Rampogusto chose three goblins to control the grandsons. The grandsons returned to their grandfather. When he asked where they had been, they could not remember.

The oldest grandson became controlled by the greedy goblin. So, he went off to look for gold. Soon, he forgot about his grandfather.
