Long ago, a young man saw a snake in an enchanted forest. He said, “You are pretty!” The snake heard him. It went behind a bush, and a beautiful woman appeared.

The woman said, “Marry me, and take me out of this forest.” The woman was really the snake, and she was really wicked. She wanted to escape the forest.

The man married the woman, and he took her to meet his mother. The man’s mother did not trust the woman. The man’s mother was very smart!

The woman was tricky and evil. She had control over the man. She used magic to make him hate his own mother! The man and woman were very bad to his mother.

One day, a pretty young woman came to the house. She was very poor. She was selling sticks to make fires. The mother bought some sticks from the poor girl.
Page 6
When the mother burned the sticks, a fairy popped out. He said, “I am Tintilinkie. How can I help you?” The mother told Tintilinkie about the snake-woman.

Tintilinkie said, “Let’s talk to Stribor in his forest. He can help you.” The snake-woman saw the fairy. She and the man followed the fairy and the mother into the forest.
