In a small village many years ago, there lived a boy who was an orphan. His father and mother died when he was very young. When he was very small, the people in the village took care of him. But now, he could take care of himself.

One day, the orphan was hunting with the other boys from the village. The orphan was a good hunter, and he caught many small animals. The other boys were jealous, so they took the animals that the orphan had caught.

The orphan was unhappy that the other boys took his animals. But he did not tell anyone in the village what the boys had done. The orphan decided to take care of the problem himself.

One day, the orphan invited the boys to go hunting with him. All of the boys said yes because they knew the orphan was a good hunter. They wanted to take his animals from him again.

The boys followed the orphan deep into the forest. Then, the orphan stopped near a circle of trees. The boys did not know this, but they were at the place where the orphan’s parents were buried.

The orphan began to sing a song. He sang, “Father! Mother! Come out of your graves. Take these boys that stole my animals from me.” Then, two big snakes came out of the ground, and they quickly swallowed all of the boys.

That evening, the orphan went back to the village by himself. The parents of the other boys asked the orphan, “Where are our sons?” The orphan said, “I do not know where they are now. The left me in the forest.”
