The old woman baked the gingerbread man in her oven. When he was baked, he came to life! The gingerbread man jumped out of the oven. Then he ran out of the house!

The gingerbread man ran across a stone bridge. He sang, “Run, run, as fast as you can. You cannot catch me. I am the gingerbread man!”

The old man and the old woman ran after the gingerbread man. But the gingerbread man was too fast. He got away!

Next, the gingerbread man ran past some people picking apples. He sang, “Run, run, as fast as you can. You cannot catch me. I am the gingerbread man!”

The apple-pickers ran after the gingerbread man, but he was too fast.
