Long, long ago, there was a town. In the town, there were many rats. One day, a man came. He said, “I am the Pied Piper. I can take away all of the rats. But you must pay 1000 gold coins.”

The people hated the rats, so they said, “We will pay you 1000 gold coins.” Then, the Pied Piper took out a flute, and he began to play a song. Soon, many rats had come out.

The Pied Piper saw about 100 rats around him. All of the rats were listening to his music. Then, the Pied Piper began to dance. He danced out of the town. And the rats followed him. A few days later, the Pied Piper came back to the town. He said, “All of the rats are gone forever. Now, pay me my 1000 gold coins.”

But the people did not want to pay the Pied Piper. Because the rats were gone, they did not care about him. Then, the Pied Piper took out his flute. He began to play another song. Soon, all of the grown-ups in the town went to sleep.

When everyone was asleep, the Pied Piper played a new song. Soon, all of the town’s children were there. The Pied Piper danced out of the town. And the children followed him. When the grown-ups woke up, all of their children were gone. And that is how they learned that they should never cheat anyone.
