Long ago, there was a samurai named Oribe Shima. One day, a lord made him a prisoner on a small island. Nobody understood why the lord did this.

Oribe Shima’s daughter, Tokoyo, was very sad because her father was in prison. She decided to go to the island and rescue him.
Page 3
On the island, nobody would talk to Tokoyo. They knew that she was Oribe Shima’s daughter. They did not want to make the lord angry.

Tokoyo went to a small shrine. When she was there, she saw a priest and a young girl. The priest was going to push the girl into the sea!

Tokoyo stopped the priest and saved the girl. The priest was not angry. He said, “We must give young girls to the evil god in this sea.”
Page 6
Tokoyo said, “I will go, and I will kill the evil god!” Then, Tokoyo took out her knife, and she jumped into the sea.

Under the water, Tokoyo found a cave. Inside the cave, there was a statue of the lord. And then, Tokoyo found the evil god!
