Once upon a time, a man was walking in the forest. He found some pretty flowers. He said, “I will pick some flowers for my daughter.” The man tried to pick the flowers. Suddenly, an ugly, gray snake appeared. The snake wrapped itself around the man. It said, “You must give your daughter to me.”

The man promised to give his daughter to the snake. The snake let the man go, and the man ran home as fast as he could go. The man did not keep his promise. He did not give his daughter to the snake. One day, a bee came. It said, “The snake sent me to you. You must give your daughter to the snake.”

The man tried to hit the bee, and the bee flew away. The next day, there were two bees. And the next day, there were three bees. Every day, there were more and more bees! Finally, the man’s daughter said, “I must go to the snake.” That night, she went into the forest, and she found the snake.

The snake said, “I am happy that you came. You can go home if you want to. But I would like it if you stayed.” The daughter said, “Thank you. I will stay for one month.” The snake took the daughter to a big house. He said, “You can stay here.” The daughter thought the snake was very kind. During the month, she began to enjoy staying with him.

One day, the snake became sick. The daughter gave him medicine, but it did not help. The snake was dying! The daughter hugged the snake, and she cried. When the daughter’s tears touched the snake’s skin, he suddenly turned into a prince. He said, “You have saved me with your love!”
