Ramadan is a special month for all Muslim children. Ramadan was the time when an angel began speaking to the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.

During Ramadan, Muslim children do not eat or drink anything from morning to evening.

When the sun goes down, Muslim children break their fast. That means they eat a big dinner with their family.

Muslim children help other people during the month of Ramadan. They give money or food to poor people. Or they help a new neighbor. There are many things Muslim children can do.

Muslim children have a celebration at the end of Ramadan. It is called “Eid al-Fitr.” It is a time to say a special prayer. When Muslim children see each other, they say, "Eid mubarak."

In the morning before the the Eid al-Fitr prayer, Muslim children wear their best clothes. Then, they have a special time with their families.

Later, Muslim children visit their relatives. They all have delicious food together.

Muslim children also exchange gifts at the end of Ramadan. They receive money and sweets from the elderly people in their neighborhood, too.

The food at the end of Ramadan is the best! Eid al-Fitr means “Sweet Festival,” so there are many sweet foods to eat. Muslim children love this day!
