The Pancake
Page 1
One day, a mother was making a pancake for her children. All of the children wanted to eat the pancake. The mother said, “You must wait until it flips.”
Page 2
This was a mistake! The mother should have said, “You must wait until I flip it.” Because she said, “Wait until it flips,” the pancake came alive, and it escaped!
Page 3
The pancake jumped out of the pan, and it rolled away! The mother and the children chased after it, but they were too slow.
Page 4
The pancake rolled down the road. A man saw the pancake and wanted to eat it. But the pancake said, “I escaped the Mommy Pommy, and I will escape you!”
Page 5
Then, a duck saw the pancake, and wanted to eat it. But the pancake said, “I escaped the Mommy Pommy, and Manny Lanny, and I will escape you!”
Page 6
Then, a goose wanted to eat the pancake. But the pancake said, “I escaped Mommy Pommy, Manny Lanny, and Ducky Mucky, and I will escape you!”
Page 7
Then, a hen tried to eat the pancake. The pancake said, “I escaped Mommy Pommy, Manny Lanny, Ducky Mucky, and Goosey Loosey, and I will escape you!”
Page 8
Then, the pancake saw a pig. The pancake said, “I will escape from you, too, Piggy Wiggy!” But the pig said, “I do not want to eat you. Let us walk together.”
Page 9
The pancake was surprised. It slowed down and walked with the pig. Soon, they came to a river. The pig said, “Sit on my nose, and we can swim across the river.”
Page 10
The pancake sat on the pig’s nose. Then, GULP! The pig ate the pancake! The pancake could not go any farther, and neither can this story!
