Long ago, there was a woodcutter. He was a lazy man, and he did not like to think or learn. So, he was very poor. One day, a Lucky Bird saw the woodcutter sleeping under a tree.

The Lucky Bird did not know the woodcutter’s lazy character; the Lucky Bird thought the woodcutter had been unlucky. So, the Lucky Bird decided to help the woodcutter.

The Lucky Bird landed next to the woodcutter, and he laid a big golden egg on the ground. Suddenly, the woodcutter woke up, and he grabbed the Lucky Bird.

The woodcutter said, “Oh! You have golden eggs inside of you. I will cut you open, and I will take them all!” The Lucky Bird was scared. He said, “Do not kill me! I only had that one egg!”

The Lucky Bird said, “Hold my feathers in the sunlight, and we will go to my home. There, you can find gold and jewels!” But the woodcutter did not believe in things he could not see.

The woodcutter cut open the Lucky Bird, and he looked inside. There were no more golden eggs. The woodcutter was sad because he could not get rich.

Then, the woodcutter remembered what the Lucky Bird had said. He held the Lucky Bird’s feathers in the sunlight. Suddenly, they were transported to the Lucky Bird’s home.
