The Two-headed Weaver
Page 1
Long ago, there was a weaver. He used a wooden loom to weave cloth. One day,the loom broke. The weaver said, “I must fix my loom. If I cannot weave cloth, I cannot make money.”

The weaver took an axe, and he went into the forest. He found a good, strong tree. He wanted to use the tree’s wood to make a strong loom.

The weaver raised his axe. Suddenly, he heard a small voice call, “Stop!” The weaver looked down, and he saw a tiny spirit.

The spirit said, “I am the spirit of this tree. If you do not cut down this tree, I will give you one wish.” The weaver said, “I do not want to make a mistake. I will ask my friend for advice”

The weaver spoke to his friend. He said, “A spirit has given me one wish, but I do not want to make a mistake. What should I wish for?”

The weaver’s friend said, “You should wish to become a king. Then, you can be a good and kind leader of your people.”

The weaver liked the advice. He said thank you to his friend, and he began to walk back to the spirit’s tree. But while he was walking, he had a new idea.
