The Fox And The Hedgehog
Page 1
One day, a Fox was walking with his friend, a Hedgehog. The Fox was bragging. He said, “I am very wise. But you, are not so wise.”
Page 2
The Hedgehog did not get upset. He thought if someone is really smart he would not call others dumb. The Hedgehog later asked, “What will we eat today?”
Page 3
The Fox said, “Yesterday, I found a chicken farm, and I ate a chicken there. We can go there today, and we can eat again.”
Page 4
The Hedgehog said, “Today, the farmers will wait for you and try to kill you. We cannot eat there.” The Fox laughed. He said, “The farmers are not wise. We will be safe, and we can eat.”
Page 5
As soon as the Fox had said that, he and the Hedgehog fell into a deep hole. The farmers had made a trap for them! The Fox was worried. He said, “What can we do?”
Page 6
The Hedgehog said, “I am not so wise, so I do not know.” Then, he said, “Oh, I feel sick!” The Fox said, “Do not get sick here!” He grabbed the Hedgehog, and he threw him out.
Page 7
When the Fox saw that the Hedgehog was safe outside the trap, he knew that he had been tricked. He said, “You are truly wiser than me. Will you help me?”
Page 8
The Hedgehog said, “I will help you, my friend.” Then, he said, “When the farmers come, pretend to be dead. Then, they will throw you into the grass, and we can run away.”
Page 9
The Fox did exactly what the Hedgehog said. When the farmers came, they thought the Fox was dead. They threw him into the grass. And then, the Fox and the Hedgehog ran away.
Page 10
After that, the Fox never bragged again. And he and the Hedgehog have always been good friends.
