One day, a Lion found a Poor Man in the forest. The Poor Man ran away, and the Lion chased him. The Lion wanted to eat him!

2- Soon, the Poor Man fell into a deep hole. The Lion fell in, too. Inside the hole, there were also a Mouse and a Snake. They had fallen in when the Snake tried to eat the Mouse.
Page 3
The Lion said, “We are all in trouble, so we will not fight with each other. We must help each other escape.” But the Poor Man did not trust the Lion, and he did not help.
Page 4
A Hunter walked by. The animals all called for help. But the Poor Man was silent. Because Hunters can understand the languages of animals, he helped them. He was not afraid.
Page 5
First, the Hunter helped the Lion. The Lion said, “I am grateful, so I will give you this advice; be careful with the Poor Man. He does not trust others, so he must be a liar.”
Page 6
Then, the Hunter freed the Mouse. The Mouse said, “I am grateful.” She ran away, but she soon returned with a beautiful necklace. It was made of gold, and it had many jewels.
Page 7
Next, the Hunter freed the Snake. The Snake said, “I am grateful, but I am also sorry. I have nothing to give to you. But someday, when you need my help, I will come.”
Page 8
Then, the Hunter freed the Poor Man. The Poor Man knew the necklace belonged to the Princess. The Poor Man ran to the King. He said, “The Hunter stole your daughter’s necklace!”
Page 9
The King put the Hunter in jail. Then, the Snake came to the Hunter. The Snake said, “I am going to bite the King. Give this medicine to him. He will get better, and he will reward you.”
Page 10
The Snake bit the King. The Hunter was called to help. He used the medicine. The King got better, and he rewarded the Hunter. The Poor Man is still poor, and nobody trusts him.
