Long, long ago, the world was a very different place. Men, and animals, and plants could speak! One day, a Tiger fell into a deep hole. The Tiger called for help many times. Then, a Man looked into the hole. The Tiger said, “Help me! I will not hurt you.” So, the Man helped the Tiger.

The Tiger said, “I will eat you now.” But the Man said, “You promised not to eat me.” The Tiger said, “A Man made that hole to trap me. I do not like men!” The Man said, “Let us ask the Tree. If he says you can eat me, then you can eat me.” The Tree said, “Men make fire with us. The Tiger can eat the Man.”

Then, the Man said, “Let us ask the Ox. If he says you can eat me, then you can eat me.” The Ox said, “Men eat us. The Tiger can eat the Man.” Then, the Man said, “Please give me one more chance. Let us ask the Rabbit.” The Tiger said, “This is your last chance!”

The Tiger jumped into the hole. Then, the Man looked into the hole. The Rabbit said, “I know the answer! The problem began when the Man helped the Tiger.” Then, the Rabbit said goodbye, and he hopped away. And the Man walked away from the hole. But the poor Tiger was in the hole again!
