Once upon a time, there was a very good King. The King had a Magic Box. If you needed something, the box would give it to you. The King let his people use the Magic Box. But it did not work for greedy people; it would not give gold. So everybody asked for things they needed.

One day, a Thief came to the town. He saw people getting things from the Magic Box. But nobody was asking the Magic Box for gold. The Thief saw a Farmer. The Magic Box had given the Farmer a chicken. The Thief asked the Farmer, “Why did you not ask for gold?”

The Farmer told the Thief, “The Magic Box does not work for greedy people. If you ask for money or gold, the Magic Box will never work for you.” The Thief wanted to have the Magic Box. That night, he went into the castle. He stole the Magic Box!

The Thief ran away to the sea. He had a boat there. He got into the boat, and he sailed away. When the Thief was far away, he thought, “What can I wish for? The Magic Box will not give me gold.” Then, the Thief had an idea.

The Thief said to the Magic Box, “Please give me salt to sell. Keep giving me salt until I say stop.” And the Magic Box gave salt to the Thief. Soon, the boat was full of salt, and it sank. So the Thief could not say stop. So now, at the bottom of the sea, the Magic Box still makes salt.
