Once upon a time, there were three bears. They lived together in a house in the woods.

Big Bear was very big. Middle Bear was medium-sized. And Little Bear was very small.

Big Bear had a big bowl and a big chair. Middle Bear had a medium-sized bowl and a medium-sized chair. Little Bear had a small bowl and a small chair.

At the start of Spring, the three bears went outside. They wanted to play in the woods.

When the three bears were in the woods, an old woman came to their house. She knocked on the door, but nobody was home. Then, she opened the door.

The old woman saw the big bowl, the medium-sized bowl, and the small bowl. And she saw the big chair, the medium-sized chair, and the small chair.

She tasted the food in the big bowl, but it was too hot. Then, she tasted the food in the small bowl, but it was too cold. Then, she tasted the food in the medium-sized bowl, and it was just right. She ate all of Middle Bear’s food!

The old woman wanted to rest. She sat in the big chair, but it was too hard. She sat in the medium-sized chair, but it was too soft. Then, she sat in the small chair, and CRACK! The small chair broke!

The bears heard the noise, and they ran back home. They saw the old woman in their house. Big Bear said, “Who are you?” But the old woman was afraid to see the three bears. She just screamed!

The old woman ran away. The three bears said, “Wait! We are friendly. We just want to play with you.” But the old woman never came back.
