Nennillo and Nennella
Page 1
Once, there was a man. He had two children. He had a boy named Nennillo, and he had a girl named Nennella. The man loved his children very much.
Page 2
The man’s wife had died when Nennillo and Nennella were babies. Five years later, he married another woman. But the woman hated the children.
Page 3
The woman was a witch, and she put a spell on the man. She told him to take the children to the dark forest, and he did it. Then, he left the children there, and he went home.
Page 4
The children were in the dark forest alone. Suddenly, they heard a sound. They thought wolves were coming to eat them. Nennillo hid behind a tree, and Nennella ran away.
Page 5
The sound came closer and closer. Nennillo looked from behind the tree. He saw a prince riding a horse. The prince took Nennillo to his castle, and they lived happily there.
Page 6
Nennella ran all the way to the sea shore. There, she met pirates! The pirates took her, and they made her clean the ship and wash their clothes. She lived on the ship for many years.
Page 7
One day, a giant fish swam out of the deep water. It crashed into the pirate’s ship, and Nennella fell into the water. Then, the giant fish ate Nennella in one big bite.
Page 8
The fish swam to another place. On a mountain, there was a castle. Nennella looked out through the giant fish’s eye. She saw her brother in the castle, and she called his name!
Page 9
Nennillo went to the shore. The fish opened its mouth, and Nennella ran out. Nennella told the prince all about the evil witch who was their stepmother.
Page 10
The prince rescued Nennillo and Nennella’s father from the witch. And they all lived together in the prince’s castle, happily ever after.
