One morning, a Princess was sitting in her room. There was a boat on the river. The man in the boat was singing. His song was beautiful.

The Princess said to her maid, “I think he is a Prince. I think he will come to marry me!” But the Prince never came. And soon, the Princess became sick.
Page 3
The King was very worried. He did not know what to do. The maid told the King, “The Princess is in love. She is waiting for the Prince who sings a beautiful song.”

The King searched all of the villages. But there was no Prince who could sing beautifully. The King only found an old fisherman who would sing while fishing.

The King took the fisherman to the castle. Outside the door to the Princess’s room, the fisherman sang his beautiful song.
Page 6
The Princess ran out the door. She wanted to see a handsome Prince, but she only saw an old fisherman. The Princess laughed at the fisherman and closed her door.
Page 7
The Princess’s laughter made the fisherman very sad and angry. When he died, his heart became a solid crystal.
