Long, long ago, here was a town next to a big hill. In the hill was a cave. The old people in the town said that a dragon lived in the cave. The young people did not believe the stories of the dragon. They laughed at the old people when they told the stories.

One day, three young men went to the hill. They took torches, and they went into the cave. Inside the cave, it was very dark and dry. It was hot, too. The three young men walked and walked.

One young man stopped. He said, “What is this? It is not stone.” Then, he poked it with a stick. Suddenly, the three young men heard a loud roar! The three young men ran as fast as they could. They jumped out of the cave. And then, the dragon’s fire shot out!

The three young men had awakened the dragon! The dragon was angry and hungry. It often flew over the town, and it ate many sheep. One day, a boy named Krakus had an idea. He covered some sheep with hot peppers. Then he took the sheep near the dragon’s cave.

When the dragon saw the sheep, he ate them. But the peppers were very hot and spicy. The dragon ran to the river, and he began to drink.The dragon drank a lot of water. Because it drank the water, it could not make flames anymore. Then, the people chased the dragon away.
