Long ago, there was a king. One day, a tailor came to the king. The tailor said, “I can make a special cloth that only honest people can see.

The king was very interested in the cloth, so he paid the tailor to make the cloth for him. The cloth was very expensive.
Page 3
The king wanted to see the tailor working, so he visited the tailor’s shop. The tailor smiled, and he showed the king the cloth that only honest people could see.

The tailor held out his hands, as if he was holding something. He asked the king, “Do you think the cloth is beautiful?” But the king did not see anything!

The king was worried. His people would not like it if their king were not honest. So the king said, “Yes, the cloth is beautiful.” But he still did not see anything.

The king asked his adviser to go to the tailor’s shop. So, the adviser went, and the tailor held out his empty hands again. He asked, “Do you think it is beautiful?”

The adviser was worried. He did not see the cloth. He knew his king did not want an adviser who was not honest. So, he said, “Yes, the cloth is beautiful.”
