This is Molly.

Molly lives with her family. There is her mum, her dad, her big sister and her little brother.
Page 3
Molly loves being with her family. They fly kites in the park. They have picnics. They read stories together at bedtime. Molly loves being with her family.

But Molly has a secret.
Page 5
At school there is a girl called Paula. Paula is much bigger than Molly. Molly is scared of Paula.

Sometimes when no one is looking, Paula pushes Molly. Sometimes Paula pinches Molly.

Molly pretends Paula is doing it by accident. She tries to stay away from Paula.

Molly loves school. She loves her teacher and her friends, but now she is afraid at school.

Today Paula took Molly’s lunch and threw it away. Some of the other children laughed at her. Molly doesn’t know what to do.

The next day, Molly didn’t get up. “ I have a tummy ache,” Molly said. “Oh dear, let’s take your temperature,” said Molly’s mum.

Molly’s mum looked at the thermometer. “ You don’t have a fever,” she said.“ I’m sick,” said Molly. “ I can’t go to school. I can’t! I can’t!”

“ I’m sure you’ll feel better when you get to school,” said Molly’s mum. “ I won’t! I won’t!” Molly said. Molly started to cry.

“ Molly, what’s wrong?” asked her mum. “ I can’t go to school. I can’t! I won’t!” said Molly. Molly cried harder.
